Shujaat’s killing : Fourth suspect who picked up pistol arrested, says Police | KNO

Srinagar, June 15: Jammu and Kashmir Police today said that the four suspect who was seen piking up a pistol and vanishing from spot where senior journalist Shujaat Bukhari along with his two PSOs was killed, has been arrested. Police also said that Shujaat was killed in a militant attack and that the Special Investigating Team has been formed led by DIG Central Kashmir that will probe the case in the coming days.

“We had sought peoples cooperation about the identification of a person seen picking up a pistol from the site of incident and fleeing from the spot. We have arrested him and recovered the pistol from him,” inspector general of police S P Pani told reporters here. He, however, didn’t reveal the identity of the person arrested saying, “he was the fourth suspect apart from the previous vedio police released showing three youth on a motor bike.

” Shujaat was killed at 7 am outside his office at press enclave in Srinagar by three armed youth riding a bike on Thursday. His two PSOs also were killed in the assault.
